Welcome to our budget month! Nearly every bride is looking to stay under a certain budget, and we’re here to coach you through how to keep from breaking the bank and still have the wedding of your dreams.

Tip 1: Choose what matters most. Choose the elements you find the most important for your wedding and decide that these will be the areas not to scrimp. If you need to have the perfect dress, decide to put less toward your flowers or cut down on the catering.  Realistically, it’s probably best to shop for your most important items first. That way, you’ll know what is left in your budget to work in the smaller items that hold less importance for you.

Tip 2: Shop around. As you look for any wedding item, it’s good to shop around. Don’t just settle for the first thing you see without taking the time to really compare some good options. Find a good deal, then seek out two to three more places to really look at the general price ranges and quality of service. You’ll be much more likely to find the best bang for your buck!
Tip 3: Use your connections. Look up old friends, ask your neighbors who owe you a favor, or get chatty with your relatives until you find good references for the bridal world. The community is always willing to lend a helping hand, so take advantage of those who would love to help you! Every little bit helps!

Tip 4: DIY. Get creative with your different options and utilize those long-dormant Pintrest skills. Anything you could fabricate, create, or manufacture yourself, do it! If you don’t feel like you’ve been blessed with the creative genes, tap into someone else’s skills for help. Enlist bridesmaids or friends to help you create your dream wedding without breaking the bank.

Whether you’re the ultimate penny-pincher or just a budget-minded bride, remember that any little effort you put into budgeting for your wedding will pay you back handsomely. Who knows, you may find yourselves saving so well that you’ll have room in the budget for a Hawaiian honeymoon! Happy shopping!
